“ I have no idea why everyone would actually be sad about this. I'm fully relieved that it actually hasn't been picked up by Nickelodeon. Because if it was it would go the way of SpongeBob in which it will be milked to death and the creator will go through burnout for several years, or will go to the way of making fiends where the show will end up getting canceled. But Nickelodeon will still own it forever even though the network won't even do anything with it.”

“ You know I've been reading the comics and I can easily see this being a really fun show to watch. Plus, 70% of the animated shows Disney has aired within the past 8 years is the very antithesis to nickelodeon's claim.”

“ On the topic of "Branding Vs. Diversity", i personally tend to have a more skeptical look at a project the moment we see diversity being the marketing point. Ghostbusters 2016 and High Guardian Spice had diversity and inclusion as their selling points in their marketing, and are projects that go from okay, to outright bad depending on who you ask.”

Meanwhile Steven Universe and The Owl House, are shows that you can promote without even using the LGBT representation. You don't need to talk about the importance of having latino representation in films, in order to sell people into something like Coco

“ To paraphrase something you said years ago, diversity works when the character is written as a character first and their race, gender, sexuality, etc. second. I argue Luz from The Owl House is a good example of that. We didn't even figure out she was bi until the first season was almost over.”

 “100% Agree I won't call out any specific shows or showrunners but I'm sure that everyone has caught on how from 2016-ish and onward some shows and movies focus more on the diversity of the characters instead of the story those characters are in and thus, not surprisingly, the story suffers for it.”

“The Owl House wasn't cut because of the LGBT stuff. It was but because it was too serialized when the Channel was moving toward episodic comedies for a younger audience, while TOH is a serialized show with a slightly older-skewing audience.The rest is on-point though.”

“ Is Enter The Florpus considered the past canon part of the series if he cant create more of it? A bit strange but remember Danny Antonucci created Ed Edd N Eddy out if a bet that he couldnt create a kids show and his previous cartoon before that is the gross out abomination named The Brother's Grimm”
